Snow watched the strange woman warily. Ever since the whole apple mishap with the Queen - and the fact that the other woman was out for her blood, or heart apparently - Snow had gotten better about trusting strangers. She decided that she would give the stranger the benefit-of-the-doubt, she couldn’t just shut everyone away now could she.
"Of course I can help!" Snow said and got up off of the ground and walked over to the wall. She paused for a moment and then held out her arms. "Maybe if you just grab on, I could lower you down?"
Mim moaned pitifully as she hung on the wall. Her feet dangled over the side as she teetered. “Oh thank you miss~! ” She cried with a smile. Her old wrinkled hands reached out to try and grab Snow’s but they were far away. The madame let out a frustrated sigh, dropping her arms to her sides briefly.
Her ideas would have to wait til after she had freed herself. She had vastly overestimated her body’s strength and vigor. Even a semi-imortal wizard lady could get a bit tired in the muscles. ”Come a bit closer, Miss. Would you please.” Mim called out to the princess again.
Cinderella nodded compliantly, and began to hum to herself as she strolled down the path Mim had suggested. As the sun began to set faster, she started to worry they would not make it by dark. “I do hope we make it back soon.” She paused. “But what about you? Shouldn’t you be on your way home as well?” The princess added, hoping the elderly woman, in which she was still fairly unsure of, would be headed to her home as well, for if not, propriety would only allow for her to open her home.
Mim let out a brief yawn as she walked through the forest. Her old bones were feeling worn out from all the exercise she had put it through today. “Well I suppose so. But Would you mind meeting me again tomorrow? I have more things to find. “she said in a eerily cheerful voice. Her plans would have to be thought out carefully. “Unless you are trying to get rid of me. Don’t want to hang around a old woman.”
As Mim walked around the town of this strange country she had popped over to she frowned deeply. It was most irritating when her magic sent her to some place she read about in a book without a proposition. She sighed, figuring she might as well get used to it when a sound hit her ears. It was someone singing, some young girl. The song drew Mim to a wall and after she had climbed over the girl was discovered. “Oh… Hello? Miss. Are you in pain or something?” the old hag called.
Snow sat on the cobbled stone walkway and expertly weaved and braided the tiny clover stems together in her lap into what was beginning to turn into a small, thin rope, singing a tune to herself. A few more inches and she’ll have made herself a flower crown. It may have been a childish thing to do, but for now she had nothing else to attend to and the clovers alongside the walkway practically beckoned her. She nearly dropped the flowers when suddenly she heard the unfamiliar voice speaking nearby and turned around to face the source of the sound. “What an odd thing to ask.” She mused aloud. “I’m quite alright actually, thank you.” She assured the stranger.
" I suppose it is!" The madame called. As Mim got a better look at the young lady she smiled. This girl looked like the princess who fell asleep from Queenie’s actions. She sounded very young but still a bit older than she was when the story took place. Mim had a habit of overhearing villains bragging about their acts of evil. The Queen seemed very adament about how vile this Snow white was but she looked harmless.
"Sorry to trouble you but could you assist me? I’m stuck up here!" she begged, making a sad expression.
The branch intrigued Cinderella, but she decided to let it go for now. Mim obviously cared not to elaborate, or she would have when Cinderella had asked the first time. Though Mim was beginning to prove herself trustworthy, the princess still had an uneasy feeling in her gut and she did not want to give herself any reason to think poorly of the woman after she had been so kind to her.
"Of course. We mustn’t." She agreed. Picking up her woven basket, now filled with flowers of every shade, Cinderella walked back towards the path. She walked for several minutes before coming to a fork. Turning back to Mim, she inquired. "Do you remember which way we came from?"
As the young princess walked Mim followed behind her. She studied the girl’s posture closely as they walked through the woods. The old hag paused, pressing a finger to her chin as she glanced about. She was very familiar with these woods but it helped to appear a bit helpless. Young girls seemed to think old forgetful people were harmless. “I’m pretty sure it was this way.” she said in a unsure tone of voice. Her hand pointed shakily in the opposite direction they walked in.
"It sure is getting a little too dark outside. We should really get you to your house!" Mim sighed , making her wrinkled face into a worried expression as she glanced up at Cinderella.
"Relax, would you!" “It’s not bubblegum. You don’t chew it.” “Sometimes I want to be alone, but right now I need you.” “Open the damn door!” “Yeah, I did it. What do you want? An apology?” “So that’s it. This is the end?” “Where were you when I needed you?” “You did that on purpose!” “How could you hurt me like this?” “Get off of the road!” “Take me to bed now or lose me forever.”
